Description

Without compromise, this cowl hood is the most carefully researched reproduction on the market. The cowl bump, contours and bolt holes are completely original in every detail. These reproduction steel hoods are made to OEM specifications, made to appear and look just like the factory hood. They have been manufactured using modern steel tools to match the shapes and contours of the originals. The steel is typically “die-stamped” on a 1,200-ton press, trimmed and folded using all steel tooling then followed with a coat of electro deposit plating (EDP) for superior rust and corrosion protection. Regarding Minor Imperfections In Panels: The sheet metal you receive may have scratches, dings, small dents, and other minor imperfections, which are considered normal sheet metal characteristics due to the nature of the product. OPGI does not consider these minor imperfections as damage. These items will be easily corrected during the filling, priming, and sanding phase of your sheet metal installation. All sheet metal panels will require some sort of manipulation during installation. Every panel that we sell is inspected and then carefully packaged to protect against damage that may occur during transit. OPGI recommends test fitting all sheet metal panels prior to final paint and installation. It is also recommended that the damaged area of the vehicle not to be cut out before receiving the new sheet metal. Measure twice, cut once to be safe. Sheet metal panels are not a finished product like door handles & mirrors. Minor modifications including elongating mounting holes, adding shims etc. are normal and may be necessary when installing sheet metal. This is a consideration when reinstalling original GM panels as well as reproductions. It is important to note that hard driving conditions can twist frames and bodies out of original tolerances. Poor body work from previous collisions can cause problems with the body structures that the panels are attached to.
