5000 series two-piece rotors have a friction surfacethat is manufactured from XG105 high-carbon alloyed iron with an increase in thermal capacity and feature 48 precision CNC machined slots in a tri-symmetrical curve design to damp the vibration harmonics or noise resulting in a quieter, more responsive, and smoother brake pedal feel due to the increased number of out-gassing points. The friction surface is attached to a reusable Alumalite⢠center made from lightweight 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum which aides in heat dissipation. These rotors feature a Kangaroo Paw ventilation system consisting of 144 diamond and tear drop style internal pillars minimizing brake fade and increasing braking effectiveness, outperforming traditional straight-vane rotors by up to 20%. All DBA rotors have heat paint markings that change color at specific temperatures allowing the driver to monitor rotor fatigue.
